Physical and Learning Disability and Music Therapy
Danny is a 40 year old man who is living with a number of disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, right side Hemiplegia, Epilepsy and Developmental delay.
One of the main reasons for referral for Danny to music therapy is that due to his pathology he suffers from absences on a regular basis. These can last up to a minute and as a result extended periods of engagement are incredibly difficult for him to achieve.
This video shows a snippet of how Danny was when he first came to music, cautious, tentative and unable to provide more than a single point of engagement. The clip will then progress through to the subsequent weeks of music therapy sessions and draw on significant moments that have charted Danny’s development.
